An unexpected gem, with a full and varied history of the local area, the kids love it with lots of interactive activities. Very friendly volunteers and a great little cafe.

A gem!!Highly recommended.

An excellent little museum well displayed with lots of interesting information

A lovely place spoiled by bad attitude volunteers who have no idea how to speak to members of the public. If you hold an event for young children expect them to behave like young children. Don't treat them like thoughtless destructive yobs when all they are doing is harmless fun. My children weren't touching or destroying anything. They were just skipping or jumping around. I was hoping to introduce them to a local museum as well as attend an organised event. I thought part of the reason of doing this event was to open up the museum to young people. Clearly not.

Radstock museum is a really well maintained, and superbly curated museum in the mining town of Radstock.Located over two floors there is enough local information here to satisfy the most curious of minds, and with some excellent interactive and physical displays there is plenty to keep the kids entertained.. and informed.Even if you are not local the museum offers a keen insight into the lives of miners and the town in general in a time not so long ago.The museum has an excellent little caf and a very well stocked gift shop.TIPS: If you are a BANES resident use your discovery card for a discount on the ticket price and if you keep your receipt/ticket you get another free entry.Great for everyone - this is how a local museum should be.
